Our advisor assured them that most employers knew that NINo’s were generally work generated and gave them leads with a number of companies who would not see this as a barrier. She also told them that any employers who said that they could not take them without a NINo could contact us and we would explain the process. She also had no transport and was finding this an additional barrier. Our advisor worked with her to highlight the positive aspects of her CV and work experience and encouraged her not to give up. Local businesses within her sector were targeted to overcome her transport issues. Within 3 months of our intervention Rakhi was appointed to the position of Personal Assistant with Capital Finance, a company based in the Belgrave area of the city and is now happy and making good progress. Zainab came to see us at the St Matthews office
after registering with us at our Jobs Fair at the St Saviours Neighbourhood
Centre. At her follow up advisory session she was given considerable
help with locating vacancies, making applications and producing a
CV. She has now been accepted by Expedia and will be starting work
shortly. Employer Case Study Business 2 Business were approached by a major retailer who had recently opened a new store in Leicester city centre. They were having difficulties in filling posts for the lead up to Christmas and were approximately 75 staff short and required some urgent assistance. It was agreed that they would use B2B’s Malabar Road and Loughborough Road offices for interview the following Wednesday and that B2B would use it’s database to organise interviews for as many individuals as possible. B2B staff worked over the weekend to call existing clients to interview and succeeded in organising approximately 120 individual and group interviews. The day of the interviews ran smoothly and the employer was impressed with the quality of candidates put forward by B2B. By the end of the day 55 B2B clients had been offered positions with the retailer and undertook induction training on the Friday and Saturday of that week, and started work in the store the following Monday. |
